Guardians of the Galaxy Infinite Comic… For Free!

Marvel Comics and Entertainment Weekly announced Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming’s “Guardians of the Galaxy Infinite Comics” a four-part serial available for free via the Marvel Comics app and ComiXology starting today, the series was created for Marvel’s Infinite Comics brand, which deals in comics created specifically for tablets and other digital devices.

The story will appear on the Marvel Comics app bi-weekly and each part will focus on a different member of the space-faring team including Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Drax and Gamora.

“Each one is sort of a prologue to the very first issue that lets the readers know who these characters are and what their individual goals are outside of the team,” Bendis told the magazine. “What makes Gamora tick? What secret is Rocket Raccoon hiding? What cost comes from being one of the galaxies most famous warriors like Drax the Destroyer?

“They are very unique individuals but there’s something very classical about them as a group, like Robin Hood and his Merry Men, like Firefly, like Han Solo and Chewbacca,” he added of the cast of he and Steve McNiven’s ongoing series’ appeal. “The Guardians are characters that have risen above their terrible upbringing and have chosen to do something worthwhile in this lifetime. That makes them heroes. The fact that they are so unique, the fact that most of them are one-of-a-kind, makes them all the more heroic.”

The first part of “Guardians of the Galaxy Infinite Comics” which features Drax the Destroyer; is available for FREE right now on the Marvel Comics and Comixology Apps on Apple and Android devices.
